Haven Capital was built on a distinctive vision and strategic approach to real estate investment.

Haven Capital is a real estate finance platform formed by affiliates of Ares and Regis.

Ares Management Corporation (NYSE: ARES) is a publicly traded, global alternative investment manager with approximately $447 billion of assets under management (“AUM”). Joe Shanley

Head of Acquisitions, East Coast

Mr. Shanley is the Head of Acquisitions at Haven Capital, overseeing all US investments for the firm. Prior to joining Haven in 2020, Mr. Shanley was a Vice President in the Investments group at SL Green Realty, where he spent 9 years managing equity and debt investments for a variety of asset types across the New York region. In his time at SL Green, Mr. Shanley closed over 60 transactions with a total value in excess of $32 billion. Mr. Shanley holds a BBA from Loyola University Maryland in Finance, a MSRED from Columbia University, and is a CFA Charter holder.

Tye Palonen

Principal, West Coast

Mr. Palonen is a Principal at Haven Capital with over 20 years of experience in the finance and investment industry. Tye began his career at Deutsche Bank in NYC in the Real Estate, Gaming, and Lodging investment banking group. Mr. Palonen most recently served as a Senior Vice President at iStar, Senior Managing Director at BH Properties, and Vice President at Global Asset Capital. Tye holds an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a degree in Business from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management.

Marc Gitto

Principal, Southeast

Mr. Gitto is a Principal at Haven Capital, where he oversees the firm’s capital markets and portfolio management activities. Prior to joining Haven, Mr. Gitto spent 8 years as a Managing Director with East End Capital Partners, developing and executing the firm’s investment strategies across office, multifamily and development investments, as well as directed the firm’s capital markets, development and asset management functions. He also served as Vice President with Broadway Partners / Waypoint Residential, where he drove the development and execution of the firm’s capital allocation and investment focus. Mr. Gitto holds an MBA from Northeastern University and a BS in Business from Skidmore College.

Alessia Salvatore

Vice President, Texas

Ms. Salvatore is a Vice President at Haven Capital in the Ground Lease Investments group. Prior to joining Haven in 2021, Ms. Salvatore was an Associate at Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners and was involved in all aspects of the firm’s projects including acquisitions, development, investor relations, asset management, and leasing. She also served as an Analyst on the Investment Sales and Debt Placement team at HFF (now JLL), where she facilitated over $2 billion in real estate transactions and was responsible for business execution, due diligence, research, underwriting, and marketing support. Ms. Salvatore has a BA from Barnard College at Columbia University.
